"Keep your eyes on the goal"
I heard a story called “Keep you eyes on the goal”. You see there was this running back that got his hands on the ball and headed for the in zone. As he wiggled his way out of tackles he never took his eyes off the goal post. Running, stopping, dodging, and leaping were the tools he used to get there. The
TV camera caught a good shot of his face while in route. His eyes were focused on one thing, scoring. How does the story end? He scores! At least in the version I heard. The purpose of the story was to show us that if you want to live a Christian life you must stay focused. “Keep your eyes on the goal” so to speak. A true Christian does have a goal. The goal is to carry out the will of God. A lot of times in life we get side tracked by everything around us. When you focus on one thing, Pleasing God, all that other stuff really doesn't matter. How is that, you say? The gospels say that God knows what you need and he will provide it for you. You must have a relationship with him in order to notice it in your life. Once you start noticing the miracles around you, everything you are given becomes a blessing not an accomplishment. Now you can choose to be the type of Christian that is in church every Sunday, or you can be the type of Christian that carries Jesus in your heart where ever you go. If you have all ready tried the first you know it is hard to get much out of that. Try being the second type for awhile. You will never have to look back again. Which is something else that is written in the Bible. We will cover that somewhere else in this site. Wanna get started? Read the book and learn the word, then you will be ready to keep your eyes on the goal. I would like to thank Pastor Ralph Meredith for the inspiration that made this page possible. God Bless you.
